: I have Model 120-557B, AC-DC, interconnected smoke alarms throughout my 4 year old home. During summer, humid weather and generally in the very early morning hours, the alarm will go off. This has occurred pretty much since we've purchased the house. The electrician has been back and replaced ALL of the alarms but to no avail. One particular alarm seems to be the culprit.
: Is there a way to de-sensitize this one unit? Unfortunately, it is the unit near the woodstove and kitchen, otherwise I'd pull it altogether.
Problem - Alarm goes off at 2:00 AM for no reason!!!
Vacuum the units. Spiders & "critters" tend to move into a SAFE location overnight and can set the alarm off. We get a lot of calls regarding this problem at the start of the heating season when recently started furnaces start blowing dust from heating vents. Dust in the air will set off the sensitive ionization units.
