1942
Munro Distributing Company, Inc. was a family owned, customer- focused electrical distributor established in 1942 in Fall River, Massachusetts - and ultimately grew to have 14 locations from Massachusetts to California and over 200 employees nationwide.
1988
The Energy Efficiency department was created in 1988 and has since supplied energy efficient lamps and controls to contractors, ESCOs, Utility companies, municipalities and government agencies to enable them to retrofit millions of square feet of building space.
2009
The solar department was created in 2009 and Munro became one of the first renewable energy companies in Massachusetts, succeeding through product procurement with advantageous pricing through our relationships with high quality, stable and reliable manufacturers and comprehensive and consistent customer support from project start through completion.
2012
In December 2012, Munro Distributing was acquired by Rexel, Inc. Rexel is one of the biggest electrical distributors globally, employing 40,000 employees nationwide, with 400 US locations and $18B revenue worldwide in 2012.
2014
As of January 1, 2014, Munro Distributing Company, Inc. was officially merged into Rexel, Inc. and began doing business as Rexel Energy Solutions.
